Cornelia Fort 1919 to 1943 WAFS pilot
Although Cornelia was never a WASP since she died before the WAFS were taken into that organization, she might have grown to like this symbol. Actually, I cannot imagine what her reaction might have been to this symbol. If you have an opinion, please send it to me.

Jewel Estes has been very helpful in putting me in touch with other WAFS and their help in understanding Cornelia has relieved much of the grief that the family still feels 55 years after cornelia's death.

The WAFS uniforms finally had these on the shoulder.
